The failing of the youngest Hesperides
2017
ink, watercolor, gouache on stonehenge natural paper
30"x22"
Skewing the ideas of light and safety, while eating apples in this nest of creation, the youngest Hesperides made a worrisome mistake. While glancing at a photo of her sister she expected the recognition of a familiar nose, mouth and eyes, but instead she only saw streaks of pale pink. Riddled by this bogey, she pulled her golden light from her trees to see the photo more clearly. And in that instance of darkness, the town, now stolen and moldered, slowly tumbled from the branches in the garden.
